Ever run for office? (School, club, organization, politics, etc.) Did you get elected?
I was elected class secretary for my class both my junior and seniors years in high school. But I didn't exactly run for office. A friend of mine just popped into my homeroom one day to inform me that she had nominated both herself and some of our other friends and I for the different categories. I did not campaign or try to promote myself. I don't think anyone else even knew I was on the ballot until voting day. I have no idea how it happened, but out of all of my friends, I was the only one elected into a position and I didn't even want it. The next year I was already on the ballot b/c I was in office, so I was voted in again. Oh well. lol
What is one of your favorite poems?
Submitted by marvel is my pen name.
'Ode to a Grecian Urn' by John Donne
I'm not really sure why it's my favorite, but ever since I first read it it's stuck in my head.
I have absolutely nothing to talk about right now. lol I'm just wasting time until my next class. I have Intro to Literary Theory next and I have a quiz in it. I don't think that I'll be doing too well on this one, but the good thing is that the professor drops one quiz grade. I guess that this one will be it.
I'm getting my hair done this tomorrow. I've been thinking about getting bangs. I just dont't know what kind. I'm stuck between just getting some long bangs that hang right about my eyes or really long sideswept bangs that I can disguise as layers if I feel like it, or pull back if I want to. I really like the idea of former kind, but I don't know if I can stop being lazy enough to style them everyday. :P
What's the next country you want to visit?
Submitted by Schomer.
Well, since my father was in the military, we've been to differend countries already. Aside from the US, I've also briefly visited Canada, I've been to Germany, Italy, France, and Austria. Since my mother is Korean, I've also been to South Korea, even though that was when I was a little baby. However, if I was going to go somewhere completely new, I'd have to say that I'd like to visit Britain. I've never been there and I figure it would be the easiest place to visit by myself since everyone speaks English. lol :D
Who taught you how to ride a bike?
It was really a combination of people. I had a hard time learning to balance. (I'm a bit of a klutz, what can I say?) My dad was there the most. My mom tried but she can't really ride either so it was kind of pointless. My godmother helped me out too.
I finally have my wireless router! So I can now get internet on my laptop while at home. It was driving me crazy, not being able to connect at home. Now if I could just connect at work, everything would be perfect. :D I'm just so excited. I wanna play with this all day.
Have you ever met any celebrities? Any interesting stories?
Submitted by Tasha.I've met the group 112 and got a poster and autographs. It was when their last cd came out, they were at a mall in Atlanta. And I've met Faizon Love from the movie "Friday". He rented a car from me a few months ago. That was cool. I've seen a few celebs from far away but those are the only ones that I've actually spoken to.
How do you pass the time during a flight? What do you bring in your carry-on?
It's been a while since I've flown, but flying tends to make me tired. If I don't sleep I take plenty of books for reading and would take my laptops for games, etc. In my carry-on I'd have at least two books, maybe more depending on the length of the flight. (I always have at least two so I have a choice depending on my mood.) Since I'd have my laptop, I'd also bring DVD's to watch, and my mp3 player for music. :D I'd also bring my journal for writing and plenty of pens.
In case you haven't noticed, I'm a bit of a pack rat. I take practically my whole room when I leave the house, so I'd probably take all of that and more on a flight.
[Edit] Wi Fi does work! I'm here at B&N now typing this. It's a bit of a rip off to pay $4 for this but I'll take it for now. I may sign up with AT&T. Unless someone knows of another company that has good service and prices? [/Edit]
I really don't have much to say about this week when it comes to school...yet. I went to my classes and so far they seem fine. My first class of the week is Spanish. It was not my smartest idea, I'll admit, but I didn't really have a choice. I wanted to start relatively early (8am), so I could be done as soon as possible (11am). That way I could still have time to do something that I need to do before work, or even get a nap in. It's working out so far. This is my schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday
8am - Spanish 2
9am - Intro to Literary Studies
10am - Physical Science 1
Tuesday
8:30am - Fundamentals of Human Communication
Thursday
8:30am - Fundamentals of Human Communication
10am - Physical Science Lab
The only thing that I don't really like about this schedule is that I don't get my two days off during the week like I did last semester. Last semester I had Tuesdays and Thursdays off. All of my classes were on the other three days. But the lab messed that up, so I decided to just have Communications on those two days anyway.
Anyway, classes were pretty basic so far. We already had a quiz in both Spanish and Literary Studies. Both were pretty easy actually. Physical Science is very boring and it's so hard not to fall asleep in there. I took Physics in high school so this is mostly stuff I already know. I just hate science so I'm taking the easiest one I could get into. I'm an English major and I refuse to take a hard science.
Moving to better things! I got my laptop this week! Yay! It's a Dell Inspiron E1505. It is sooooo pretty and I'm so proud. I just love it to death. I can't keep playing with it. (I'm actually writing this on it now. I'll transfer it later) I don't have internet access on it yet. I have to get a wireless router and have someone install it. :( I'd do it myself but I'm scared of screwing it up. I'm going to Barnes and Noble this morning to test out the WiFi though, since they offer it for free. :D I'll have pics posted as soon as I can pry my camera from my sister.
What's the most obsessive-compulsive thing you do in a normal day?
Submitted by Nikki.
I'm constantly checking my phone for one reason or another. Either to double or triple check that it's on silent when I'm class or on vibrate while at work. I constantly check for messages in case I missed a call or text messages. I also check whether my alarm is set for the right time. I'm just obsessed with my phone. :D
