Sunday Scribblings #49 - Superstition
Am I superstitious? I'd like to say that I'm not, that I think that it's all just really silly. And yet.... I won't open an umbrella indoors, I don't walk under ladders, and I hold my breath when passing cemetaries (as long as I possibly can anyway). I try to avoid stepping on cracks or 'splitting the pole', I throw salt over my shoulder when cooking, and all of these other superstitious things that seem stupid when you really think about it, but become habit. I may say that I'm not, but deep down I really am. They don't make any kind of sense and none of them are scientifically proven to do anything, and yet they are so deeply rooted in our lives.
So, yes. I am superstitious and damn proud of it.
